Four Summer events on Exmoor

Summer is a busy time on Exmoor, with all sorts of events going on around our Exmoor holiday cottages.
So we thought we’d take a look at four which are coming up over the next month.

West Somerset Folk Festival

The charming West Somerset Folk Festival gets under way on Friday, June 27, and lasts all weekend long.
With a sing-a-long concert on Friday, workshops throughout Saturday and gigs across the weekend there’s something for everyone at this inclusive event.
The festival takes place in Carhampton and tickets cost £12 for the whole weekend.

Combe Martin Open Gardens
That same weekend also hosts Combe Martin’s open gardens.
Cross the border into Devon on Saturday and Sunday the 28th and 29th of June and you’ll find a selection of private gardens in Combe Martin open for public viewing.
With cream teas available in some gardens and a ploughmans lunch on offer between 12pm and 2pm it’s an event you can stay at all day.

Dunster Flower Festival
The Dunster Flower Festival is one of the closest events to our Exmoor holiday cottages.
The festival, which takes place over the weekend of July 11, sees the village decked out in beautiful and colourful floral arrangements.
This year’s theme for the festival is Music through the Ages, so visitors will be treated to delightful sounds as well as sights.

Porlock Horse Show

Porlock’s annual horse show takes place at West Luccombe Farm, just outside the village, on July 27.
With show jumping, a gymkhana, an Exmoor Horn Sheep show, stag horn show and dog shows there’s something on offer for lovers of all kinds of animals.
Visit www.porlockhorseshow.org.uk to find out more about the show.
